Two Days to Go

Saturday, January 30, 2010

I decided today, well actually yesterday, that I would write my last pre-London blog tomorrow, which is actually today. I was going to do it some time in the afternoon, but sleep seems to be evading me at the moment. Hopefully, this or my Andrew Lloyd Webber music will put me to sleep.
So, there is one more day to go before I am off across the pond to the grand city of London. I'm pretty much done with packing for this adventure, which makes me very happy and very relieved. The packing itself was not as difficult as I thought it was going to be. Part of it was the fact that I under packed. The other part was the fact that my dad is a great packer. I probably would've been a mess without him so I thank you dad for your help. Anyway, with the clothes out of the way, all I need to do now is pack my carry on. This will be a lot easier since I am just taking my computer, some extra toiletries, some electronics, and a book. Once I'm done with that, I will be ready to go. Yay for being almost ready to go.
Besides packing, the day itself was pretty awesome. I had my first major snow day for the year. I spent some of the day shoveling the snow with my family, and that was a very interesting experience. The rest of the day was spent packing and futzing around the house. All in all, it was pretty much a relaxing and productive day.
I guess it is time to talk about what I am looking forward to. So here's my list:
The theater: I can't wait for my theater class and attending some West End musicals. Theater is my second life and London is the perfect place for it.

The Plane Ride: My first transatlantic ever. Nervous:Yes. Excited:Yes. I just don't really know what to expect. I guess the good thing is that it is at night, which means I get to sleep. The only problem is will the thing be on time? The snow has caused a lot of problems with the airlines and flights are backed up. So, are we going to be delayed or are we going to have extra passengers? -prays for first one- All in all, I am looking forward to this.

Traveling: All my life there have been only a couple of places I have ever wanted to go to over seas: London, Rome, and Greece. That's really about it. The good thing is I'll be able to focus all my efforts on the UK, including London,Ireland, and Rome. I want to explore the heck out of London and most of the UK and do the Angels and Demons walk in Rome if it exists. Basically, London, the UK and Rome are where my sights are now.

School: Nothing much here. Just looking forward to be doing some non-major classes. Just can't wait for all of them. Here's my class list:
Education Practicum: English Schools are going to be interesting. Potential ideas to help our system.
The Beatles: A whole class on the Beatles deserves the word Awesome. Can't wait
London Theater: Mostly plays and maybe a musical. Well worth I think. I'm not a huge non-musical theater person, but the exception is British theater. Globe here I come.
Art History: Love Art. Love History, well sometimes. Put the two together and I have myself some good times. Plus, museum visits and getting one on one with the art. I just may have an artgasm.

Being with My Fellow Fellows: Will be interesting. I haven't been in close contact with them since HST, but I'm looking forward to it. They will see a new side of Jefe. Maybe the singing side. I see some musical karaoke in my future.

I think that's all for now. Pictures will be uploaded from time to time, along with blogs about each day or every other day or every week. Heck, whenever I can remember.

Until Next Time,
Jefe

PS To my Muse,
Please make London the place where I can write my book.
Thanks,
Jefe
